Flight App Concept

Flight App Concept is a completely new experience for users to book flights. The Indian designer Jekin Gala created an extraordinary set of interfaces, showing various screens, filters and interactions. His presentation covers the home screen, search flow, booking flow, check-in and more.
The designer was kind enough to share the entire kit as a free download that you can get on gumroad.

How Jekin describes the project:

Travelers today want a flight booking app that takes care of the booking along with logistics so that they can just sit back and relax. Sadly, most of the apps out there don’t focus on post booking experience. So I designed a concept app that takes care of entire experience and is fast, fluid, with seamless interactions.

Home Screen

The home screen features a grid layout, where you can find various rows composed by various cards. The main sections present the most popular destinations, deals and city guides. Regarding the UX, the app is really well built, and instantly show to the user two forms, where he can decide the starting point and the destination.

Search Flow

The Design features a screen with quick choices and obviously the possibility to type the city. After that first step, the screen reveal the full form, composed by various filters and options.

Booking Now Feature

This section shows a clean interface, composed by cards that features the results of your research. By clicking on one of the flights, the card expands and shows all the possible options and details. The very last step includes the checkout.

Search via Map

The Designer created also a way to choose your starting point and destination from a map. Although its cool UI, seems like a difficult way to choose your places, mostly because the number of cities represented on the map doesn’t reflect the reality. For instance, he never mentioned any city in Europe, except for Paris and London, but apparently they are now close to the Arctic Circle.

Conclusion

The interface features a clean, modern interface that every major airline company or booking company would love to adapt to their apps. Unfortunately, the UX isn’t perfect as the aesthetic side. There are many interesting approaches, like the home screen and booking flow, but at the same time there are complex or unusable paths, like the search via map.
